Amanda, the young woman in the top pic with Chelsea, will not be coming back to Toccoa Falls College next Semester, soooooooo we had a going away weekend for her! I went to Sams to get some food, and I had planned to make chicken wings....one of Chelseas favorite foods, but there happened to be a 4 pack of steaks that were reduced for quick sale and cost exactly what the chicken wings were gonna cost (a big gift from God!!!) so it was a no brainer and a very easy menu change! We had a delicious medium rare steak, mashed potatoes and a salad with feta and a homemade balsamic vinegar vinaigrette.....wow, how yummy it was!!!!! The girls took pics of the food and posted it on fb.....kinda made my night! Since I was not going to be home on Saturday due to a concert, I wanted to make the most of Friday night! We truly had a blessed time together.....we even had art time together in which Amanda painted me a beautiful picture for my room! Amber, Chelsea and I made each other feel a little better about our lack of artistic ability in the light of Amandas INCREDIBLE artistic touch! The whole weekend was great for them and God definitely showed up as He helped us create a beautiful memory of a special time together! Amanda......you are going to be greatly missed, but I know.......I know that God is going to use you no matter where you are......no matter who you are with........and no matter what direction God takes you in!!!! May God bless you sweetheart......I praise God for the chance to get to know you, and for providing a friend for Chelsea that will forever remain in our hearts!

My sweet Jordan is a college student at UGA. She is majoring in Early Childhood Education, and I have to tell you.....it is DEFINITELY her calling! She went to band practice with us (In case you don't know....she is Sam's girlfriend) and Devon instantly found a new friend! She was so patient with him and helped him play both pool......and the drums! As they sat and played the drums together, a feeling of joy just could not be contained in my heart! Seeing Jordan in action is like watching and artist working on their creation. She had so much patience with him, and she encouraged him along the way. You could not wipe the smile off of Devons face! I look forward to watching Jordan develop into the woman that God created her to be....and seeing how He is going to use her in the lives of sooooooooo many children. She has already impacted the lives of many children and it just so happens.....my grandson is one of them!!!!!! I think that I posted last week about Gods provision for cleaning the building while I was gone.....and now I want to praise God for the young woman who helped me! Tori is a precious young lady that I have known since she was just a small girl. Our families have been friends for a long time and each and every one of them are dear to us. Tori is now in High School and I am really feeling OLD!!! I hear from her mom that it was harder than she though, which makes it even more special that she did this for me. I am one that often does not like to have to ask for help, but I am so glad that God worked it all out for me without me even having to ask! Tori......thank you so much.....you have been a great blessing to me and for that I am so thankful!
There are some days that I just can't wait to get out of the house and get on the road to somewhere......and then there are days that I dread the thought of leaving home. After this wonderful trip we took, I was looking forward to going absolutely NOWHERE! It was such a great blessing to be afforded this opportunity to catch up on laundry and play with Devon!
We got in at 2:00 and left back out a bit after 7:00 to get Chelsea back for class at 9:00......Oh happy day!!!! Actually it was.....any time I get to spend with these two precious yahoos is a blessed one! I am so thankful that they both got to go to Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma with us! These two manage to find laughter in almost all circumstances, and they handle adversity well. They both bring me joy, and for that I am grateful! I had a fun day at the school, as I always do getting to visit with great young men and women....and I even got to talk to Professor Koser for a while....that is ALWAYS a hoot! I then made it home safely to spend the evening with Chris, Devon, Bubba, Tanner and Carly.....it was a WONDERFUL evening watching Tanner and Devon playing their hearts out......and loving on each other! Does it get much better than this???? At 2:00 AM, we drove in the driveway and made it back home!!!! Devon was so happy to go get in his bed......as well as were we! God is so great and I am so thankful that He leads, guides and directs our every step! I am eternally grateful!!!
Praise Day 327: Today I praise God for a safe day of travel and a grandson who traveled like a pro!11/25/2012 Today we started out at 8:30 (9:30 home time) and traveled all day and night. God gave us great grace and gave Devon sweet peace as we carried the mail on down the road! Devon watched his videos, played a few games and went to sleep when it was time to go to bed.......I tell you, he handled it much better than the big people did! It was a long day......but it was also one of safet
Charlie was taking the picture here, so he cannot be seen, but what can be seen is his incredible heart and love for friends! Charlie and Sharon have been friends of the Stacy family since Chris was but a wee one! Often, Sharon was like his second mother......keeping Chris in line! (hehehe) Charlie and Sharon live in Edmond, OK which is a wonderful town! Chelsea has decided that it is perfect and would maybe like to live there. Devon had a blast too because he got to see his memaw Sharon......and he loves her a lot! They are two very wonderful people and our lives have been richly blessed by them! I praise God for putting wonderful friends and family in our lives. Oh, and we also got to eat a chilli dinner with their sons Mike, his wife, and David......and it was a wonderful time. David is such a hoot......I don't think he has changed a lick! This morning as we all woke up, it seems as though the sickness had run its course......for the most part that is! We fixed a wonderful meal and ate with a few of Joshes friends in the Army. Although we were not fully restored to feeling great......no one was throwing up and for that alone I give God praise! I am so thankful to God for so many things: Salvation, Family, Friends, a great Church Family, Our Military, Food, Fun, Worship, Freedom, and far more! There are so many things to be thankful for......oh how we often forget how much we really have! I praise God that He gives us Mercy and Grace.......Forgiveness and Unconditional Love! I praise God for His Loving Kindness and His Peace........oh how I praise God! May we all take time every day to praise
I have to say that today was quite the challenge! This morning, Chelsea started the day throwing up and feeling overall rotten. As the day progressed, she got worse and Chris started throwing up. By the afternoon Chelsea was in a really bad place to the point that I had to take her to the Doctors. After taking her symptoms the nurse talked to the doctor and they sent us directly to the hospital for they feared she was experiencing a bad case of altitude sickness. As we went to the hospital, Chris was getting better back home and Christian was feeling really bad as was I. While at the hospital they gave Chelsea and IV and meds, that started to help her feel better........well, that was when I started throwing up......in the room with her! When the doctor came in to talk to us I was in the midst of throwing up and fighting vertigo. He looked at me and told me that if I wanted, he would gladly check me in and start me on meds and an IV. I decided to just take some meds that they gave to Chelsea (doctors suggestion) and have Chris come pick us up. By this time.......Christian was horribly sick and in need of meds too.....oh what a day! All I can say is, Father, I praise You in the midst of this storm! I praise You for life and for family! I praise You for your protection and for Your love! Even in the storm.......I praise You!!
